A couple of years ago, I watched my son Matt move forward with a dream to work in film production. I saw him struggle to keep his faith and vision in a world determined to deflate lofty goals and dreams. So many “experienced” people wanted to let  him know that his expectations were too high, were not reasonable, were naiive. It can be the most difficult thing that we do: thinking of what we want, holding positive high goals, seeing wonderful outcomes, when most of the world has forgotten how to dream.Last night the first part of the Emmy Awards were held in Los Angeles….and he was there. My other son Tom (Matt’s brother) flew out to be with him, and they sat together as the winner in the Cinematography for Reality programing category was announced. It was group award for the half-dozen or so cinematographers/producers of the show, of which he was one.Whether he had won or not, we couldn’t have been prouder, and I went to bed last night with my phone on my nightstand waiting for the call. At 10 p.m. the simple text came through from Tom; ”He won!!!!”

“This whole manifested world goes to show us what use or misuse we have made of God’s gift. And God’s gift is your mind and your speech. It is not your outer speech, for we know how deceptive that is. …When you watch your inner conversations, you are actually watching your nature. If you don’t like it, change it …Do you know it becomes a pleasant thing after a while to carry on lovely conversations? It becomes very pleasant, …yet if you are in the mood to argue…remember it doesn’t stop there… your inner conversations will balloon and crystallize and manifest (themselves) in your world.” From Immortal Man by Neville Goddard

Oh Mary…HUGE congrats to Matt and to all of you! You must just be bustin’ your buttons! What a wonderful moment to share with your son. Love to all.
Mary, when I saw your posting come in this morning I thought what a nice surprise and when I read it, I thought, you must just about be busting your buttons with pride for Matt. He held on to his dream and look where it took him. He’ll be floating on adrenalin for some time to come. Isn’t it wonderful to see young people reach the goals they set out for themselves and they believe in themselves enough to stay focused.

Congrats to your handsome son and to you also, Mary!
Mary, – show these ‘cards’ to Matt – he’s got a fan club in the flock! Reading over everyone’s happy remarks – how fun it is to share someone else’s joyful moment!
Manifestation and unrelenting positivity, I expected the unexpected but didn’t quite expect this so soon(I should have, ha!).
I have had amazing influences in my life and in turn I give back to others who need help. Be it sending prayers out to family before bed, a generous tip at a restaurant or sitting down with a friend in need of some encouragement. I would not be where I am without my friends and of course my family, I love you mom, anything and everything is possible, thanks for teaching me so much.
If I could change one thing, it would be that my fricken tie wasn’t crooked in all my pics
Matt – who’s looking at a tie when we’re all looking at that Emmy you’re holding! Congrats on a well-deserved award. You won in life a long time ago, though, when you got our sweet Mary for your Mom!
We’re all happy for you on BOTH counts. : )
Matt, honest truth – I never noticed the tie until you mentioned it! Your happy face is what draws our focus! So nice you posted above – you are your mother’s (lucky!) son!
So happy for you, Thank you for sharing all that you do with us.
I can not begin to imagine what Matt and Tom must have been feeling as they sat in the audience…as the category was announced…and then the winner. How wonderful, exciting, inspiring, awesome ~ a dream come true!!! Congratulations to Matt and to his wonderful Mom…xoxo Marian

What a wonderful, proud moment for all of you! Something like this makes all those “rough” mothering times worth every minute, every anxiety, every tear. Add this to the wonderful news of Tom’s engagement and what a WONDERFUL time for your family! Congratulations!!
Congratulations to you and to Matt. You were (are) such an amazing person and a wonderful influence on me while we worked together (I was so lucky to have had you put in my path)…I am sure it was your influence on Matt as well that lead him to his success. This is just the first of so many in yours and his future. Love you Mary.
How wonderful and exciting for you all. Dreams really do come true. Congratulations!
